Materials You’ll Need
Scrapbooking is one of the favourite hobbies of most people. It helps to enhance our artistic side and it sometimes serves as a good way for releasing tension that many people find scrapbooking fun, enjoyable and relaxing.
If you would like to start an accordion scrapbook in particular, but have no idea where to start, then this page is for you. This article will , in fact, cover the fundamental steps to creating an accordion scrapbook.
Therefore, make the most of your time and effort as you learn to document the special events and lives of the ones you love through accordion scrapbooking. Keep in mind that this project is adapted from the Close to My Heart website, a company dedicated to scrapbooking.
Before you begin forming your accordion scrapbooking, you must first gather the materials needed for the project, which are as follows:
2 pieces 6×6 inch squares of background and texture paper
2 pieces 5×5 inch square of cardstock
2 pieces 4-3/4×12 inch strips of cardstock
Ribbon, optional
Stamps or other forms of embellishments
The Procedure:
1. Normally, an accordion scrapbooking starts with wrapping each of the five inch squares of cardstock with the texture paper and desired background. It is best to think that you’re doing this as if it were a present. Take note that here you are making the front and back covers.
2. Get the two long strips of cardstock. Note the word “long”. Be sure to glue them together by way of overlapping them by ½ inch. Obviously, after that you obviously have one long strip. Then, fold this strip on the seam where the two pieces are joined.
3. From the fold you’ve made, remember to mark 4-3/4 inches from the fold and crease at this point. This step must be done on the other side of the fold too.
4. If finished, trim off the excess paper, making the pages even. Then, you’re done making the pages.
5. After that, focus on the front and back covers you’ve made earlier and glue them on to the inside pages of your accordion scrapbook. At this point, you have the option to add a ribbon if you choose. If so, then glue the ribbon particularly on the back cover prior to attaching the pages. Then, tie the ribbon in front to keep the accordion scrapbook closed and flat.
6. Lastly, stamp on the inside to decorate. Since you are making an accordion scrapbook here, you have the right to add pictures and do some journaling on it. Now, you’re done!
